1) This constant argument about abolishing the Electoral College is short sighted and frankly stupid. You can get rid of the EC, but you wont fix the actual problem which isn’t how we elect – it’s how we represent https://twitter.com/peterawolf/status/1280282984483033092
2) The Electoral College is broken. Yes we all know that. We’re trying to solve 21st Century business w/20th Century ideas using 18th Century tools. The number of EC delegates is based on the number of reps each state has in Congress.

538 EC Delegates = 538 Members of Congress
3) Each state gets an automatic 2 delegates, 1 for each Senator. The House – which is meant to represent population – is where the numbers of delegates begins to vary.
4) The problem isn’t say California, with a population of approx 40 million, is underrepresented in the EC with only 55 delegates – the problem really is California’s underrepresentation in Congress.
5) Once we address the REAL issue of representation in Congress, we will begin to see a government run & elected by a more accurate voice of the people.
