the bigger question is not the validity of dispersal orders or sufficiency of 'em; it is how and why the state weaponizes its police against a group of Black activists (as opposed to, say, pink p*ssy hat crew) - via such arbitrary tactics; a direct response to challenge of power
it is noting the state and police did not order fascists to disperse notwithstanding using chemical weapons and seeing that as an active choice of disengagement
it is seeing the police ticket and challenge protester-coordinated car barricades, making protests safer and more sustainable, after a tragic death in the community, endangering everyone, and turning activists into political targets by being "known" to police
but watching the police let fascists walk freely in our streets
its never about the orders themselves, or the labyrinthine complexity in the law that guides their issuance. it is the use, non-use, and misuse of power. by people in power. against communities. in and on our streets.
