the song is cute, but the over-writing of pop music has ruined music journalism for everyone. https://twitter.com/ggretweeter/status/1280509814267940864
y'all try your very best to carve poetic narratives out of pop music like stans try to carve racist/problematic narratives out of everything done by someone they don't stan.
where are the reviews that say crayon pop's music is so fun and upbeat it makes the labour of household chores less daunting?
where are the reviews of twice's knock knock saying it came at a time when most other groups were releasing songs half that pace and with a fraction of the joy?
where are the reviews saying orange caramel became the most iconic k-pop subunit in history by a huge margin, just by consistently delivering us fun, silly bops anyone can sing and dance to?
y'all be obsessed over this weird intelligence circlejerk where y'all pat one another on the back for connecting two scenes on a music video and namedropping microgenres nobody cares about.
bring back the bopeebopeebopeep aah's and the ring diggy diggy dong's. pop music doesn't have to be deep, and no music genre can ever do catchy, fun & silly the way pop music can.
