i used to ID as pansexual for the longest time and i have many friends who also ID as pansexual. let me tell y'all, their feelings towards other genders is not just "diet bisexual" (not today, at least). if anything, it falls more along the lines of "queer" +

+ but obviously some people don't like "queer" because it's a slur. other pansexuals simply feel that their attraction doesn't need a label, but pansexuality is the closest one to explain how they feel

i know for sure that when i identified as pansexual, i did it because sometimes i would only like women, other times i would only like men, etc (this isn't the same as being a bisexual with a lean towards a certain gender)

so obviously we know why it's transphobic/biphobic/enbyphobic to say "i like men, women, and trans/n-b people",, i don't wanna go too deep into that but let's just water it down to this: the statement turns trans/n-b into a 3rd gender and it implies bi people are transphobic

so we all steer clear of that definition. but statements such as "hearts not parts," "regardless of gender" and "we like personalities" is stupid because it implies that other sexualities only like what's in someone's pants. this adds to the stigma that lgbt is inherently sexual

or at least it does to me!!

this could also be terf rhetoric but im cis, i don't wanna speak on that bit due to overstepping yk...

next thing, if u guys keep saying "regardless of gender," the oMNiSeXuALs are gonna crawl out of their holes and try to take advantage of that

so if pansexuals say "regardless of gender," omnisexuals are gonna say we like all genders" and thats just gonna create more stupid tumblr microlabels from 2014

last thing, many trans/n-b people use the term "pansexual" for their own reasons. don't invalidate that.

tl;dr - if ur gonna define pansexuality, PLEASE !! DON'T !! USE !! THESE !! STATEMENTS !! because they fucking suck ^__^♡ try explaining it with something better, such as the "complexity" of ur feelings towards certain genders, and what extent u would go with them.

also, at the end of the day, even if i /used to/ identify as a pansexual, i don't anymore. if any other pansexual moots read this, feel free to correct me or add ur own thoughts or disagree or agree or whatever ^__^ !!
