A few months ago, I turned Facebook Ads off. We'd had an agency running it, actually lost a ton of money in Q1

I turned them back on in June, after strong May sales. I've never done FB Ads before, so I read blogs on dynamic retargeting

We made 5 figures from it in June. 1/7
I use the Symprosis feed app in Shopify to send data to the Facebook catalog & then I used the Elevar app to setup all the tags/events correctly.

It's not incredibly difficult, but it was annoying getting the pixel to fire correctly. Symprosis & Elevar helped get it right. 2/7
The whole process took about a week and has played out a lot better than I thought it would. Elevar cause it also fixed my Microsoft Ads tracking problems.

I was critical of Facebook dynamic retargeting in Q1 because the data said almost all the sales were from people who loaded the ad, but did not click. (view through)

Why spend $$$ if people weren't coming back to the site? Maybe the abandonment flows should get attribution? 4/7
Last month, we were getting plenty of click-through conversions... more than enough to justify the money we were spending on Facebook.

The view through conversions were just gravy on top of it, even though I'm not really sure how much weight those should get. 5/7
tl;dr

I've never run FB ads before and am a FB skeptic, but I did the absolute bare minimum reading a few articles about dynamic retargeting and getting tech support from Elevar and Symprosis.

It's largely on autopilot and it's making us 5 figures with a great ROAS. 6/7
I realize this is child's play per @soundslikecanoe, but it's been entirely worth it and I want to share it in case this helps someone out. 7/7
