hi, i don't like to get involved with things like this, but to all of my convention-going friends: please reconsider supporting itabag palace (thread)

first i'd like to say that i'm not trying to "attack" them or anything. this is merely a thread of my own observations that made me not want to give them any of my money, and i feel like i should post them in case anyone else is also reconsidering

itabag palace is run by two people named gali and corinna—those two are who i am referring to when i say itabag palace, as i know they have other temporary employees who may not be fully involved. their public instagrams are kthmcos and yumpositive, as of 7/7/2020

itabag palace used to be animeonstage—as you can see in these screenshots, the animeonstage banner is clearly behind them.

first, they are currently using "blacklivesmatter" as a coupon code despite being white and stating nowhere on their website that the proceeds from the sale are being donated.

previously, they have done the same with having a coupon code called "corona" which they then changed after backlash

i'm going to address this claim next, as it was the first thing to tip me off.

here is an image of one of their items. it's called the double decker itabag backpack, and they sell it for $46.

this bag is actually a replica of the official utapri itabags. here's an image of one of the real bags that was previously sold on amazon jp by bandai. i was unable to find the original price they were sold for, but resell sites show them selling from about $25 to $40

essentially, they are selling a replica (aka a knock-off, a fake, or a bootleg) bag for more than the real bag retails for. this is a business practice i see to be extremely shady, and this is just ONE example of the many bags they resell on their site.

here are some various tweets/comments of people commenting on the situation—generally, it seems to be the same across the board that people are not getting their orders and not being communicated with.

additionally, here are comments talking about them deleting negative comments or posts with negative comments—very unprofessional in my opinion, and now comments are turned off for all of their posts

again, i am urging everyone to reconsider supporting this business. enough people have spoken out about not getting their orders that i feel like these aren't isolated incidents. itabag palace themselves have even said something.
