Maybe this is coming from a bitter place, but-- I keep seeing these beautiful black girls suddenly join the cosplay community and gain 10k+ in followers and it's kinda frustrating. After cosplaying for 10+ years and see them make it in 2 months sometimes even 3 days. (Thread, 1)
No hate, NONE AT ALL, but most of it is because of bullies and racist comments. I look at it and think, "I've been bullied my WHOLE life, but I've never got clout for it" so it makes no sense to me? It's not really about 'talent' but about making up for the bullies I guess? (2)
And it's only the pretty types, not the girls who aren't 'socially pretty' just the ones who look like models. They get clout so easy for putting on ONE cosplay and its so weird how society works like that, cause its not their fault they're pretty or getting it. (3)
When I was younger I would see stuff like this and see it as me not being good enough. If someone shoots up in views/followers in a day while I do the same kind of work (if not MORE), then I felt I was just ugly and untalented. I'm not like that anymore (THANK GOD) (4)
Like I said, maybe it's just a bitter rant, but it's so exhausting to keep working so hard and see other people just get it because they're 'pretty' cause I would like to make this a career one day and speak out for people like me, but it's hard cause I lack the 'model' side. (5)
ANYWAY NO HATE, I'm just observing and I appreciate everyone who follows me and all my friends. It's just been a trend I've seen lately where people are making up for racism by praising only the conventionally pretty black girls they see. Which is really weird to me. (6)
