loona’s first member, heejin, was revealed as a member of loona on september 25, 2016, followed by hyunjin, haseul, yeojin, vivi, kim lip, jinsoul, choerry, yves, chuu, gowon, and lastly olivia hye, who was revealed as a member on march 8, 2018, with sub unit debuts in between.

they officially debuted as LOOΠΔ on august 20, 2018 with the release of [+ +]. the following releases would include [X X] and [#]. they would get their first win on march 12, 2020 with their latest comeback, so what.

they even have their own loonaverse, a loona universe that has too many theories to recite in one thread, but here’s a picture to explain it.

loona has gone through so much as a group, from fansign boycotts, to the very man who created the loonaverse lore LEAVING the company, to their company losing a lawsuit, i could go on.

i’m creating this thread to make people realize that loona is more than a meme. loona has the potential and talent to help them grow and reach many big milestones, but that won’t happen unless they’re given an opportunity. i hope this thread helps them achieve that.

butterfly, their best comeback. the songs introduces many races and religions respectfully, and also has an empowering message. i encourage you to watch the music video with the lyrics on.

this is kiss later, the song their youngest member, yeojin, debuted with (she was only 15!!!). the song is about consent, hence the name and the chanting of “kiss later!” in the song.

heart attack by one of their most known members, chuu! this song just goes to show that she’s more than just a pretty face and has so much potential as a singer! the mv also has lgbt+ themes, which is why it’s one of my most favorite mvs of theirs :)

this is sweet crazy love by one of their sub units odd eye circle! honestly, this song would’ve done much better if it was released by a more popular girl group, it had so much potential, but unfortunately, loona didn’t get that exposure :(

new by yves! this song holds the record for kpop’s first soultronica song and was yves’ SOLO debut, which is a big flex imo. this song is just...listen and you’ll understand.

oh (yes i am)! this is the song used in those “_______ vs unfortunate events” edits, which you probably have seen once on your tl. i added this to the thread as an example of how loona only goes viral with memes. i wish their talent would get recognized.

the dance practice of colors, one of their bsides. this is a favorite of mine because of how elegant yet powerful they move. i know i say that a lot but i cannot stress enough how good performers they are. the dance also includes a magic trick if you’re interested.

here’s the dance practice of their latest comeback, so what! this is also one of my favorites (i have a lot of favorites). although the song may not be the most liked, the choreography is definitely one of their best. it’s so synchronized and detailed, i just love it.

full moon by sunmi! they are honestly so good at showing off their elegant side in performances as well as their vocals and rapping skills. fun fact, yves, the member with the ponytail (without the eye scar), is a really big fan of sunmi.

next is their cover of hong jin young’s love battery! this was performed in the show “immortal songs”, where you basically add a twist to a pre existing song. their choreographer even praised them for this.

this cover of not today by bts just left me speechless the first time i saw it. although it’s not like the original, loona killed it and it’s one of my favorite covers, along with the song.

here’s their other bts cover, fire! it’s so cool that they can cover a song and do it right at the same time, i applaud them for that.

you know i couldn’t end this thread without their infamous cherry bomb cover. although a certain fandom may not like this, it still is their best cover.

unfortunately, this thread has come to an end. but, that does not mean loona doesn’t have more songs and performances that showcase their talent. i encourage you to go listen to their discography and even indulge in their loonaverse! it’s very interesting.
