Never forget when Bernie Sanders was asked about Sweden& #39;s economic policies, and he admitted that he knew NOTHING about Sweden
Yet he constantly holds up Sweden as an example to emulate.
Bernie is as empty-headed a politician as you can imagine. Not an ounce of curiosity in him https://twitter.com/greg_price11/status/1237158089209655296">https://twitter.com/greg_pric...

And when you confront Bernie supporters on the absurdity of their beliefs, they always refer to Canada or Sweden
You don& #39;t know Canada Bernie. You don& #39;t understand how our economy is structured. Canada is a capitalist nation with a welfare safety net. Yet you rail against it

Canada doesn& #39;t have a Government "guaranteed jobs" program. Yet that exists on Bernie& #39;s platform
That policy alone would warp labour markets beyond recognition, and redirect much-needed capital to inefficient projects
Same with his wealth taxes. Canada doesnt have that either

Canada& #39;s top federal tax rates are about 33%, which is FAR less than the +60% tax rates that the Bernie Sanders supporters want.
Canada doesn& #39;t have a wealth tax. We don& #39;t have unrealized capital gains taxes
Canada doesn& #39;t "ban" billionaires either. Nor do we have worker corps

These are the economic policies of a mediocre man.
The policies of a man who never spent 10 seconds actually thinking things out
Bernie was never in a position of true responsibility, so he had the luxury of dreaming up policies on the fly. His opponents don& #39;t have that luxury

And what& #39;s insidious about all of this, is that whenever Bernie supporters are confronted with this:
They change the topic to Scandinavia, or Canada.
It& #39;s a very dishonest tactic. It& #39;s meant to trick folks who don& #39;t understand politics deeply enough, and gives them a pass

Capitalism and free trade has brought more prosperity than any system ever devised. This is a good thing
We should also create safety nets and regulations in order to mitigate its worst effects. This is also a good thing.
But restricting capital markets would paralyze growth

And there are many people on the Far-Left who deride the concept of economic growth as being secondary
Well, until every child is clothed and has antibiotics and food, then we *need* to continue growing. And wealth isn& #39;t finite. We can and should create more of it.
