It's so odd how "respecting people's identities" is applied situationally.

If a man identifies as a woman, both he & his beard, testicles, penis & male pattern behavior, including male pattern violence, are magically female, & anyone who objects is branded a subhuman bigot. >
If a woman identifies as a man, she needs to, at the very least, have a mastectomy & take enough testosterone to "pass" as male, & then consent to be used as a weapon against other women, never as a battering ram into men's language & spaces.
Meanwhile, with any other facet of human experience, "identifying as" something you patently are not is (rightly) viewed as an absurdity. Dolezal is not black. A grown man with a diaper fetish is not a baby. A dude w/ 2 working legs who gets off on wheelchairs is not disabled.
The only "identity" protected here is that of men who wish to believe they were born to dominate women.

If you accept "sissy" men as men, the idea of innate male dominance crumbles.

If you accept "butch" women as women, the idea of innate female submission crumbles.
Fear of how men react when their dominance is threatened - if you don't accept it as a matter of nature, they will enforce it with violence - is why otherwise intelligent women respond to transgenderism by ascribing to a new pseudo-religion of sexed souls.
It's a protective fiction. It is also doomed to fail. Appeasing bullies never works. Men are just humans w/ male bodies. There is no special male soul/brain/nature that explains their dominance. It is merely the result of centuries of exploiting women.

This is why I make a habit of posing this question: What *feelings* makes an adult human male, (no infertility, no intersex conditions, no derails) somehow not-a-man?

There is no answer to this question that does not reify innate male dominance.
It is also why I wrote this, in response to the incessant "what about intersex people" derails:

Humans correctly identified at birth as ova-producers who go on to give birth: this does not mean they have feminine personalities.

Humans who are correctly identified at birth as sperm-producers who go on to father children: this does not mean they have masculine personalities.
There's no need to view the sex categories of male & female (called men & women in humans) as a complicated rainbow mystery. Every single human, regardless of reproductive role or viability, doesn't matter: complex individual PERSONALITIES. Every. Single. One.
