Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is undoubtedly one of the best strikers in the premier league as well as the world. In this thread, we’ll take a deeper look on his crucial role, not just on the pitch, but off it as well.
On the 31st of January, 2018, PEA joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund for a then-club-record fee, reported to be £56 million. Little did we all know what’s waiting for both of us.
Auba made his debut on the 3rd of February, against Everton in a 5-1 victory for the gunners, where PEA scored.
PEA then played his first full season, the 2018/19 one, scoring 22 goals, out of position, which made him a joint golden boot winner with Liverpool’s duo, Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane. Too good for a light skin Danny Welbeck eh?
This season, Aubameyang has started off really well by scoring the winner against Newcastle, in our first game of the current season. So far, he has managed to score 19 goals in 31 premier league games, and assists 2 goals. He manages 2.6 shots per game
PEA is an extremely versatile player. His preferred position is definitely ST, but most of the times, he has played as a LW. And sometimes as a RW. That’s a team player right there!
According to many stats, since joining the premier league, only Salah has outscored Aubameyang. The likes of Aguero and Kane are yet to outscore him. Iconic.
PEA has scored his 50th and 51st goals in an Arsenal shirt against Norwich city, making him the fastest Arsenal player to do so, faster than Henry and Wright, and the 6th fastest prem player to do so.
PEA has an amazing work rate. For a 31 year old, that is really impressive. He defends really well, and he drives forward when it’s the time to. His positioning is too good, which makes him really unique.
According to many studies, PEA is the 3rd fastest player IN THE WORLD! Yes you heard that right! 3rd fastest itw, and he is 31. Wow!
Despite playing out of position, with a below average team and under 3 managers, Aubameyang Is yet to lose both of his scoring abilities and pace. He currently sits second in the golden boot race, right after this season’s sensational Jamie Vardy.
We’ve spoken on the impact he has on the pitch, now, let’s dive into the dressing rooms!
The moment PEA joined, the whole English media started questioning his attitude. They called it toxic and claimed that he’ll ruin our dressing rooms. Oh well, some people got proved wrong!
Pierre might not be the best leader out there, but he has an amazing influence on our youngsters., especially Edward Nketiah. Eddie often went out and spoke about how important is having Auba in the team. The young lad is learning from him!
Before he joined, the dressing room was in a huge chaos. The relationship between the club and the fans wasn’t too good. The moment he joined, everything changed. He made our dressing room more positive and healthy. The players are all united together...
He solved the fans had with the club as well as the problem between the fans each other.
