To put this out there before the video comes out, no, I will not be giving Sanders Kennedy a statement. He is planning on posting a video mentioning my Blackface scandal. I don’t feel like a monetized drama video is the appropriate platform to continue this discussion.

I am and always will be willing to discuss this with my subscribers. I’ll never stop being ashamed by it, but as I’ve learned more over the years (with many of you helping educate me along the way), I acknowledge that my discomfort is not nearly as important as being ready to

continually apologize, discuss, and hopefully educate others. Every time myself or someone else brings this back up, I have many people reach out to me privately expressing confusion around why it’s an issue. I’m happy to be able to pass along what I’ve learned around this.

Again, I’m deeply ashamed. But mostly, I am grateful that this shitty moment brought forth a huge opportunity for me to learn about why and how much it mattered. For anyone seeing this for the first time, I’m sorry. I can only imagine that many of you, especially

my Black subscribers, feel betrayed. I hate that this is a mistake of mine that will continue to hurt people. But that is why I’m always going to be willing to talk to you guys directly. I appreciate that many of you have given me the opportunity and trust to grow and learn, and

I respect everyone that chose not to support me anymore. I’m forever sorry.

I would be remiss to not acknowledge the amount of Black women who have taken the time and emotional labour to educate me, reach out, share their stories, and help me understand over the years. Thank you, and I’m sorry. You don’t deserve to deal with my mistakes.

To my white subscribers - please do not accept this apology on behalf of the Black community!! I respect that you are trying to support, but it is not necessary or helpful. This is a real issue and it deserves real conversations and accountability.
