having a front row seat to how bad things are in so many capacities and just enough cognitive skill to guess at what it might lead to altogether is a hell of a price to pay to not get to maintain a veil of ignorance in my daily life.
just, you know, wondering out loud why i subject myself to the horrible stream of up to date information
like obviously i& #39;m not getting perfect information, don& #39;t have the ability to discern the future or even necessarily analyze everything with full clarity due to gaps in knowledge of history and theory, i just wonder why i even try despite not feeling like i have a choice
ideally a common understanding of the situation could lead to class consciousness and solidarity and sure i could be helping with that but instead i am keeping myself awake sharing the same info amongst other nearly equally tapped in, my bad
idk i can& #39;t even really think straight after learning we have about 20 years to major crop failure, which won& #39;t be just a light switched off and hunky dory up to the moment. so many people think more death now means a BETTER tomorrow. what do i say to my nieces and nephews
what am i even willing to survive at this point
i know this comes across as so meandering but the thread tying it all together is the capacity for human misery happening to a culture that well and truly convinced itself it was "past all that" and refuses to take the totally-within-reach preventative actions because of that
