He’s got a crush on her but she is so jaded by the misogyny of the workplace (she has had to fight to get half of the respect of her male colleagues) that she will not give him a chance.

Don’t have her instantly swooning over Superman either. Play with that dynamic. Give Lois more depth than damsel in distress… have her go to rescue him or something when he thinks he’s in danger and have him get maced in the face doing so.

(Maybe capsaicin in his eyes didn’t hurt him but have it still set off his tear ducts)
