I don't post contents like this but let's make this an awareness. Before you cancel someone, know their side especially their culture. In this context, the user did not even tried to understand the context of the twitter user he/she cancelled.
This post has reached several accounts and got even reported. This is also a shame for TXT Report Account for not verifying anything and just straight up posted it. Worst thing, he deleted it after knowing the truth and became unprofessional about it.
Now, let's talk about the tweet, the user said TURN ON in a context that makes them charmed / fall in love more with a person. This is also how the term was mainly used in the Philippines, which is also her country. Vocabulary wise, her usage of word on her context is also valid.
The worst thing is the ones who cancelled her are the ones who are really problematic.
Finally, they admit their mistakes but still took the low road by being rude about their apology. She did nothing wrong and even talked to them politely. This is just sad. Also their tweet is still accessible, the user lied about it being deleted.
Lastly, cancel culture is NEVER valid. It doesn't allow the person to learn from their mistakes, whether it is big or small. Education is what's important. Let's be honest here, some of those people are just yearning for clout because their TL is too dry. Don't be one of those.
If you are going to cancel someone, weigh the consequences. Think if it is VALID, JUSTIFIABLE, and PUNISHABLE. Discernment is innate, capitalize on that!
