Have been fairly quiet on Twitter for awhile. But starting a thread that will be continuing for the rest of the summer. Won’t lie, dealing with the challenges facing our world hasn’t been easy. But it also hasn’t been easy for anybody, regardless of employment status.
Being furloughed and joining millions of Americans in filing for unemployment isn’t something I ever thought I’d find myself doing. Not as a MiLB coach working for an MLB organization. On March 11th woke up feeling as good & confident as ever about life & my career.
Like almost everyone working in the sports industry, by the time I went to bed on March 12th everything had changed, and life as we knew it would be totally turned upside down.
So this thread will be sharing the journey of how I’m spending my furlough finding ways to make the best of the situation. But more importantly finding ways to hopefully make the world a better place as we go through this challenging journey not just as a country, but as humans.
So to start, the rest of this summer I’ll be helping out @Dougie0045, who has been running the Cleveland RBI 18u team for years. I couldn’t be more excited. The work he’s been doing for the youth of Cleveland is one of the best kept secrets I’ve ever seen.
