Here is a brief thread of some of the craziest things that happened to me in my years working outdoors in Times Square:
One time I cut down Shubert alley and ran into an EOD in full bomb squad gear on an empty street. There was a bomb threat and the cops had blocked off either end of the street but not Shubert.
I used to freestyle rap for a bus tour, me on the street, mic going into the bus. One time while rapping a man on drugs tried to fight me
One time I ran to catch the Ride. My microphone was sticking out of my back pocket. Police officers thought it was a gun and 10 officers swarmed me without me realizing I was the one they were swarming. They caught me and laughed when they saw it was a microphone
One time an officer tried to get my attention while I was performing. I couldn't hear because of my ear piece. He thought I was ignoring him and started to yell, he had his hand on his gun and his partner was calming him down. He issued me a citation for inciting a riot
One time a man who was drinking liquor from a bottle took my microphone and shouted out Two Chainz. It was Two Chainz. He was shouting out himself.
One time when I was hosting the ride, Steven Baldwin got out of his car in traffic to slap the side of the bus and wave. I found out later he did it as part of a promotional stunt for a failed competitor for Vine
One time I saw a drunk Elmo piss in his own Elmo hat
This isn't Times Square, but one time Anderson Cooper was on the ride, and they asked me to go on his show and surprise him from the audience with a rap, but our segment got bumped, so I just sat and watched an episode of Anderson Live. Howie Mandel was the guest
For those of you who don't know what the Ride is, it's a bus tour of New York with seats that face the side of the street, and performers are planted along the route to interact with the bus. I served as a host, a freestyle rapper, and "New Years Eve Guy"
New Years Eve guy celebrated New Years Eve in times square every day. @arturocastro85 used to do that job with me. We have since been equally successful
One time they were filming Bird Man and I didn't know and they blew up a cop car and I thought "oh shit" but did not stop eating my dollar pizza
One time I refused to buy a guy's cd and he called me a "noodle boy"
One time a really nice guy talked to me for 15 minutes, then asked if I wanted to buy e and I told him no and he got mad at me for wasting his time
