DJT’s top 4: Warsaw, Mt. Rushmore, Riyadh, Miami (“Socialism promises prosperity, but it delivers poverty. Socialism promises unity, but it delivers hatred and it delivers division. Socialism promises a better future, but it always returns to the darkest chapters of the past.“)
Riyadh: “A better future is only possible if your nations drive out the terrorists and extremists. Drive. Them. Out. DRIVE THEM OUT of your places of worship. DRIVE THEM OUT of your communities. DRIVE THEM OUT of your holy land, and DRIVE THEM OUT of this earth.”
More from Riyadh: “The first task in this joint effort is for your nations to deny all territory to the foot soldiers of evil. Every country in the region has an absolute duty to ensure that terrorists find no sanctuary on their soil.”
His Riyadh speech appealed to desires to return to and protect the ME’s culture and history of religious tolerance. It was, one might say, defensive of Islam as a religion of peace. It also clearly identified the biggest source of instability- Iran.
And then Warsaw. “Just steps from the White House, we’ve raised statues of men with names like Pułaski and Kościuszko. The same is true in Warsaw, where street signs carry the name of George Washington...”
More Warsaw: “Amid that hell on earth, the citizens of Poland rose up to defend their homeland. I am deeply honored to be joined on stage today by veterans and heroes of the Warsaw Uprising.”
Warsaw:”Thru 4 decades of communist rule, Poland and the other captive nations of Europe endured a brutal campaign to demolish freedom, your faith, your laws, your history, your identity —indeed the very essence of your culture and your humanity.Yet... you never lost that spirit.
Warsaw: “And when the day came on June 2nd, 1979, and one million Poles gathered around Victory Square for their very first mass with their Polish Pope, that day, every communist in Warsaw must have known that their oppressive system would soon come crashing down.”
Warsaw: “Just as Poland could not be broken, I declare today for the world to hear that the West will never, ever be broken. Our values will prevail. Our people will thrive. And our civilization will triumph.”
Last Warsaw: “So, together, let us all fight like the Poles — for family, for freedom, for country, and for God.”
Really the Rushmore speech pairs w/ the Warsaw speech. Warsaw was a defense of Western ideals, Rushmore was America-specific. And the other two harkened to a time of civilization and human flourishing vs modern suffering brought by imperialism (whether Islamist or socialist)
