Exclusive by @David_Ornstein: Matteo Guendouzi has been training alone since Arsenal defeat at Brighton on June 20. Arsenal keen to move Guendouzi on, offering him as swap/sale. Club expected to meet with his reps in coming days.

Matteo Guendouzi was called to a meeting with Arteta & Edu after the Brighton game but didn’t impress. Arteta’s decision to exclude Guendouzi is understood to be based on more than just this incident, which is seen as the latest in a series of indiscretions. ( @David_Ornstein)

Alexandre Lacazette could leave Arsenal this summer. After Inter, it is above all Juventus & Atlético Madrid who are concretely positioned to try to attract the French striker. ( @BilelGhazi)

Talks have already taken place with Juventus but Arsenal are unwilling to discuss any transfers until the season is over. Atletico are willing to do a swap deal to ensure they get Lacazette, possibly with Thomas Partey. ( @BilelGhazi)

RB Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff on Arsenal target Dayot Upamecano: “I assume that he [Upamecano] will also play for us next season. We are in good talks to find a solution to prevent him from leaving on a free transfer next year.”

Arsenal are ready to test Newcastle United’s resolve to hold on to Allan Saint-Maximin – if the Premier League blocks Mike Ashley’s ongoing attempts to sell the club to Amanda Staveley’s Saudi Arabia-backed consortium. (NorthernEcho)

Saint-Etienne have agreed to forego the €2.5m bonus they were due to receive if William Saliba played 17 games this season. Talks are set to conclude positively & the player is set to return to Saint-Etienne by Friday. ( @lequipe)

Arteta on Arsenal qualifying for the Champions League: “This club has to play in Europe. This club has to play in the Champions League. If we don’t have the choice to do that, it’s better to play in the Europa League than not to play in Europe at all. That is my personal opinion”

Arteta on the possibility of doing swap deals this summer: "We have to be open to different situations. And I think the market will give us the opportunity to do certain deals like this [swaps] but at the moment I cannot comment on any of that"

Arteta on if he wants to keep Dani Ceballos at the club next season: "Yeah, we are talking to the club. Obviously we don’t own the player, he’s not in our hands so the clubs will need to have a communication & see what we can do"

Arteta: "I’m really happy with him, the way he’s evolving & I love how much he likes to play football. The passion he puts into every training session & game, you just have to see his celebrations. I think he’s becoming a really important player for us"

Emi Martinez on Arteta: "We knew Mikel would be a good manager, but we didn't know he would be this good. He's incredible. He knows how to deal with experienced players, with young players. He gives us a game plan against anybody & gives us hope when we do the training sessions"

Martinez: "He [Arteta] knows what position you have to be in every department, whether you are a goalkeeper, striker or a left-winger. And then, when we go into the games, those scenarios we worked on in training actually happen, so we start believing in every word he says"

Martinez on Arteta: "You are in or you are out, you're with him or without him, & there's no discussion on that. We know if we want to play and we want to be at this club, we have to be on board. That's good for the team because no one can relax"

Emi Martinez on his Arsenal career: "It's been up & down in my Arsenal career, to be honest. There was something I had inside me that said, 'Why am I not getting my chance in the club that I love?' But God always puts you in the right place at the right time"

Brendan Rodgers on Arteta: "I think Mikel has done very, very well since he's gone in. He's gone into a club with huge expectations, which he knows from being a player there. He's gone in into a huge task & I think how he's dealt with it so far has been outstanding"

Rodgers: "From a tactical perspective, he's made it very clear how they want to play. The style, you can see. Thats not an easy style to implement, especially at a club that wants to be challenging straight away. His courage since he's gone in, to want to develop that"

Chris Wilder accuses Mikel Arteta of turning drinks break into team talk. “We were told against Arsenal we weren’t allowed before the game to give team talks and then I saw Mikel gather his troops and start delivering a team talk ( @MirrorFootball)
