y'all there's legit a god of male love in Chinese myth, Tu'er Shen (the Rabbit God). he got beat to death for thirsting after a handsome official but the underworld guards were like "u know what? ur crime was one of love, go back up and become a patron deity of men who love men."

after he died he appeared to this dude in a dream and was like "hey what's up i'm a god now BUILD ME A TEMPLE!!" and the dude was like "aight SHIT guess we better build you a temple"

then the cult around him got so big that the Qing government was like "oh no STOP!!"

the modern chinese government is also too homophobic to condone worship of him, but there's apparently a temple to him in Taiwan and it sounds pretty sweet
