First that comes to mind for me is the incomparable @WatermillTh - I’ve worked there twice but it feels like a second home. One of the most beautiful places on earth! 2/

Next up is the iconic @theCentre in Cardiff - it sits in port like a copper monolith. Feels like it could’ve fallen out of the sky. 3/

Another dockside beast - the @BordGaisEnergy Theatre in Dublin - like a fragment of glass, filled with song and smashed through the banks of the River Liffey 3/

I’ve got more but it’s late... let’s end part one with the gorgeous @EdenCourt - on the banks of the river Ness. One of the most beautiful and calming places I’ve ever been lucky enough to visit. 4/

It’s a beautiful morning for a glimpse at @VenueCymru in Llandudno - this mighty Welsh seaside queen. 5/

Art Deco beauty, and surrounded by one of the most gorgeous parks. Brilliant, beautiful, bad-ass Bournemouth Pavillion @bhlivetickets 6/

Next up is the killer view from @SouthendTheatre Cliffs Pavilion - it’s like a biscuit tin clinging to the edge of a mountain. 7/

About 300 yards away from the sea, but nevertheless a strong entry, @EBTheatres Devonshire Park Theatre is a quiet, austere gem - though I never found out what was in those towers! 8/

In the first of a few international entries - Sydney’s Ensemble theatre here - one of my favourite theatres in the world, because, well - it sits on the edge of Sydney harbour 9/

Probably the most famous international entry, my first love, and my first theatrical home - the Opera House, Sydney. Shells, songs and sea water - the most beautiful harbour on earth. 10/

I think that almost does it for theatres I have actually worked at. This thread is open for submissions from others that know more aquatic-theatric spaces. I might keep adding theatres I’ve been to, or want to go to.

Each of these theatres, and any of the ones to come, on this thread, have been severely impacted by the hardships of the current crisis. Support your local theatre however you can. These necessary institutions should last as long as the bodies of water they sit by.
