#Thread :Shiva

Shiva is the Supreme Being-the all pervading Brahman who is unaffected by Maya or the illusory world of duality

He has absolute control over all indriyas & is in a state of perfect samadhi/equilibrium-he is limitless timeless & formless-Supreme Bliss Consciouness
2)The moon on his forehead represents his control over time-he is Chandrashekhar or Mahakaal who transcends space & time

The jataa or matted locks symbolise "Prana Vayu" which is basis of every life : here he is Pashupatinath-the master of all living beings
3)Ganga flowing out of his jataa represents purity & he is now Gangadhara-whose grace can cleanse our soul & purify it

The 3rd Eye represents detachment arising out of divya drishti or a state of pure bliss consciousness of "Satchitananda"

It also denotes Pralaya when opened
4)3 coils of the Naga represent Past Present & Future-the coils denote the cylical kaalachakra-He wears the snake as a garland denoting his formless endless nature

3 horizontal lines on his forehead or Tripunda denote perfect harmony & control of the 3 Gunas : Rajas Sattva Tamas
5)Trishul-The 3 prongs denote 3 nadis/energies

Ida at the left giving d right to Material pursuits

Pingala at the right giving d right to Spiritual prowess &

Sushumna in the centre bringing abt the perfect state of balance between the two which is the path to Moksha
6)Damaru resonates with the universal sound or Nada : ॐ
which can be heard in deep mediation & denotes the state of awakening from the slumber of ignorance

Kamandala-It carries water with which the Shiva-the Adi Guru quenches his bhaktas thirst for knowledge & wisdom
7)Bhasma on Shiva's body is a reminder that everything in the universe is perishable except for Brahman (Atma)

The "Neelakantha" represents the perfectly awakened vishuddhi chakra-it prevents the poison (evil thoughts ideas emotions) from entering the body & is Mahadeva's center
8)Tiger skin denotes he is one with Shakti & hence the supreme source of all universal energy

Nandi symbolises righteousness & patience-which is the supreme virtue in our Dharma-he waits patiently while Shiva is in deep mediation

9)Earlier 2day I read a tweet on Shiva with a pic of a man smoking a chillum

The person who tweeted this justified the inanity by trying to sound cool abt "weed" & instead of correcting self asked me to read up on Shiva

I want to say🙏to this person who inspired this thread😇😊
10) Lastly a humble appeal to all : Please do not try to sound woke & cool by denoting/associating Mahadeva with intoxication

If we portray such misrepresentations then how can we blame others when they do the same

May Shambho Bholenath bless all
