Rich people don’t flash their wealth deliberately in front of our eyes to inspire anybody. They’re taunting us.
And this is why the luxury content on social media is difficult to stomach. From the rich kids, from the influencers, from the celebrities. All of it.
For real though. The same way we look at Dr. Dre’s shoe collection as gluttonous, and the same way think Kim Kardashian posting her horse ranch during a global economic crisis is off, is the same way we have to question local celebrities flaunting their private planes right now.
Choosing which displays of wealth we prefer because they’re more aesthetically pleasing is only going to hold us back. They’re all obscene.
