So @BTS_twt just made iTunes history as the artist with the most # 1's on iTunes. They have 104 -- ONE HUNDRED AND FOUR -- #1's on Apple's platform. Ya'll better recognize, MUSIC INDUSTRY. We are going to drag ALL ya'll to filth.
AKA they better get nominated for @RecordingAcad AND ACTUALLY win. Who compares to BTS? Perhaps the BEATLES – but they lasted only 7 years (from 1960-1967). And their reach wasn't WORLDWIDE like BTS, whose music is played on every continent (even antarctica).
Also, the BEATLES were boring AF, sang out of tune, they also couldn't dance. Had hits, yes of course, but many were mindless, didn't have a message (Yellow Submarine), and had LITTLE DEPTH UNLIKE BTS!
On another note, BTS has had to overcome racism, homophobia, and become even better than flawless just to be recognized by the world outside of Asia. Even INSIDE KOREA they had to overcome so much nonsense, hate, and noise. GIVE THEM WHAT THEY DESERVE!
This is why we need KOREAN AMERICAN writers employed at places like @billboard. Ya'll don't know the depth, culture, or language like we do. Don't try to write about KPOP because of clout or clicks – give Korean American reporters agency to write about their OWN PEOPLE.
Basically the only people writing about KPOP for @billboard are white. Which is fine. But 한국어 읽을수있는지 궁금해요. 우리 문화 / 역사 아나요? If you can’t read this — you got a problem!
Also I got a problem with those outside of KPOP thinking BTS fans are teeny boppers or all Asian. No. They’re Black, indigenous, Latinx, biracial, LGBTQ++, disabled, young, more matured; they are the WORLD. And ARMY ARE BEAUTIFULLY DIVERSE. #ARMY
