Here's why T'Challa in Black Panther is superior than T'Challa in Civil War (Thread)

1. T'Challa in CW is cool he's a bada**, I think that's why so much people prefer him in CW. But T'Challa in BP has so much depth because he thinks he should follow in his father's footstep, but as the film goes on T'Challa realizes he shouldn't and he should be a different—

,better king, and better person than his father, were in CW he has a generic revenge story.

2. On the surface, Wakanda is a utopia, but below the surface lies a troubling adherence to traditions that cause most of the problems in the movie. To move forward, Wakanda needs a leader who will move on from those traditions T’Challa becomes that leader by the end of the movie

The writers even had T'Challa say it in the scene when he was in Shuri's lab, when Shuri said "what are those" and he said "I wanted to go old school for my first day"

3. During the first act of BP, T'Challa is following in his father's footstep, he performs in the same rituals as his father did, and fails to bring Klaue to justice just like his father did before him, but T'Challa breaks tradition a little by sparing M'Baku

4. But when he meets Killmonger, he realizes his father and the other past kings were wrong. He realizes hiding Wakanda is doing more harm than good.

5. When T'Challa meets his father in the ancestral plane for the 2nd time, while he is mad for his father leaving Killmonger in Oakland alone. When he tells the previous kings that they were “all wrong,” he isn’t doing so out of anger.  T’Challa realizes in that moment that—

that following the old way, with its isolationism, trial by combat, and rejection of outsiders has been doing Wakanda more harm than good. T'Challa by the end of Black Panther changes Wakanda for the better by opening up it for the whole world

Thread is done, but that's why I think T'Challa is so much better in Black Panther than in Civil War
