my dad made an appointment with my therapist so she can explain to him what depression & anxiety is. He then called a family meeting & said "layikhaya kunomuntu ongekho right & kuzomele sonke sibeResponsible futhi simusizi. Nathi sibe conscious ngesifo sakhe & how we contribute"
Abazali bami bawa bevuka nami, even when they didn& #39;t understand - they took me to therapy. They ask how it was, what I discovered & what they can do. Mom tries too. And when she can& #39;t get it she lets my dad lead & she does what she understands most - prayer. I& #39;m grateful for them
I remember when once I having a panic attack, my mom got out of bed ASAP & attended to me like I was on dying bed. Dad called me into the room, asked me to unpack what I was thinking about or going through that made me get to a place of panic - at 12 midnight. At some point they couldn& #39;t afford my sessions anymore. My dad then got a therapist friend of his to please help me. Or they& #39;d send me to my grans place for a few days because she is a student counselor by profession. There& #39;s nothing they wouldn& #39;t do to make sure I am okay.
"akekho umuntu layikhaya ozogula sikhona sonke sibuka singenzi lutho futhi, people perish because they lack knowledge. Sizothandaza siphinde sifunde"
My mom makes sure I take my medication. They literally lay hands on my medication & pray over it. They make sure they do not hide behind Christianity, they are accountable & they push themselves to learn more about whatever I am going through. And they cover it all/me in prayer.
