MONDAY Colorado hospitalization numbers are out...

Headline: Pay attention to trends over time, as one-day blips can lead to faulty conclusions.

In other words: things are ok, for now

Take a look at chart. Blue line today went down. (by a little)

As I wrote yesterday, 171 was as high of a number as state had seen in some time

(According to latest data... Since June 10)

It's good to see number dip, if even by a little...

But we have trended up... That will need to be watched.
Here's how you know we're ok

Hospitals aren't expecting shortages... not in ICU beds.. Not in PPE... Not in staff (although one more reported staff shortage possibility in next week...)
To put all of this into perspective...

At its peak in Colorado, there were 888 COVID+ patients in CO hospitals. (April 14)

Even then, capacity was not reached (although in some hospitals things did get dicey)

Today there are 165.

1/5th of where we were in April
I don't think it's fair to simply assume that hospitalizations will skyrocket here.

I also don't think it's fair to assume they won't

What is clear is this, however... At least now we have a much more robust surveillance program in place.

So if things start to pop, we'll know
