Shinra Kishitani is a selfish problematic character who does very toxic things to keep Celty in his life I don’t care if she and Shizuo aka the “morally sound” characters in the show think that he’s a good person he’s a jackass and he deserves criticism.
I also don’t care that Izaya and the Orihara twins see him as a better person than Izaya, to me they are the same because Izaya treats all humans (Shizuo and Celty aside since he considers them monsters) with the same level of jackassery meanwhile
Shinra treats the people he loves with his jackassery because he’s selfish and only truly cares about his own happiness. As a character he is fascinating and he calls Shizuo out on his bs more than any other character and I love him for that but he deserves consequences
Anyway my purpose in this thread is to point out that Shinra is a wolf in sheep’s clothing character that gets away with all his toxic behavior at the end of the story because he genuinely “loves” Celty and is a great example that all the characters in drrr are problematic and
get away with it. Aside from Izaya that is.
