kids are allowed to have problems with some of your behaviours, and they are allowed to express how it affects them without them being ungrateful. Relationships are multidimensional and just because you do good things, doesnt mean you cant also do wrong. They can recognize that.
Nothing worse than approaching your parent kindly about something that affected you and hearing "yeah well, you're welcome for the fucking groceries"
