[Travel Updates Thread] #Iceland was planning to reopen its borders June 15. BUT On July 1, Europe announced it won’t be allowing American tourists. Because of this, U.S citizens can no longer enter Iceland at this time.

At this time, all of EUROPE has banned U.S Citizens from accessing the country. So I’m not going to list each place in EU individually.

#Mexico has reopened a lot of its beaches across the country to tourists as of June. Openings vary by destination within #Mexico. I will note the ones Im aware of below. Again, if I don’t list them, you can check their gov website yourself:
( #Mexico continued) FIRST & foremost: YES travel to Mexico from the US is still listed as “essential”. So “technically” you can still travel if you find a flight. This “essential travel” label is set in place until at least 7/21...
( #Mexico continued) People often get confused because of that but to make things less complicated, if the destination is accepting visitors, they WILL let you in & U.S citizens can return to the states...
( #Mexico continued) I also want to note, Mexico has a high number of cases the government hasn’t been able to shutdown like other places because their economy relies heavily on tourism 😞...
( #Mexico continued) Travelers entering Mexico by land from the U.S “may be denied” admission if the purpose of their visit is considered non-essential & may be subject to health screenings. We’ve crossed by car multiple times since without issue. Getting back in has been no issue
( #Mexico continued) Quintana Roo (Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, Tulum etc) & Los Cabos are accepting U.S visitors. Travelers might go through health screenings upon arrival. Rivera Nayarit is currently not opened to travelers. Mexico City started accepting visitors as of 6/29.

#Barbados borders will officially reopen effective July 12. All travelers must have proof of a negative COVID test withing 72 hours of travel.
A mandatory 14-day quarantine for all persons entering Barbados.
#Hawaii is requiring that everyone arriving goes through a mandatory 14-day travel quarantine. This is in place at least through August 31....
....( #Hawaii cont) People must self quarantine in a hotel or motel as their designated quarantine location. No person, who is subject to the mandatory self-quarantine, is allowed to stay in a short-term or vacation rental. It’s recommended you suspend your trip.
