avoidable products you might not know are causing CLIMATE CHANGE
A THREAD:
MICROBEADS found in facewahes & scrubs pass through most water filtration systems and end up in the ocean. Tho tiny, 100,000 plastic particles can end up in the ocean after one shower. EXFOLIATE WITH THE TWO ON THE RIGHT
AEROSOL CANS contain compressed gas like nitrous oxide which is a greenhouse gas.
DETERGENT WITH PHOSPHATES causes harmful fertilization in the ocean. Mrs. Meyers biodegradable laundry is a sustainable alternative
CHLORINE AND BLEACH cleaners are more harmful than the germs that they get rid of. An unnecessary product to use. Hella harmful to nature. it kills damn near everything it touches.
PALM OIL is an ingredient in SO many different things, cleaners, makeup, food, etc. This product is the driving force behind deforestation in rainforests. Peel back the label, put it back on the damn shelf.
This one is self explanatory but SINGLE USE PLASTIC. This is so simple I can’t believe how hard it is for y’all. But I still have to stress that PLASTIC BAGS ARE THE ABSOLUTE WORST THING YOU CAN USE.
RECYCLING INCORRECTLY/WISHCYCLING. Indystar reported that 40% of recycled material in Marion County is contaminated. Find everything you need to know about recycling properly here

WET WIPES do not dissolve the way toilet paper does. They should NEVER be flushed and ideally they are the last choice for washing your face.
ANTIBACTERIAL HAND SOAP and just a lot of other weird ingredients in other soaps that are hard to remember. The easiest way to avoid this is by specifically seeking out biodegradable soap. Not at all hard to find!! Mrs. Meyers and Dr. Bronners are great brands.
LIMITING MEAT CONSUMPTION or going vegan/vegetarian makes SUCH a giant impact. I know this is difficult to a lot of people. If you can’t avoid meat, at least try to avoid beef/ dairy products, or try an impossible burger as cows release a fuck ton of methane.
The last thing I’m gonna say is that a lot of young people people say that they care & climate change is a huge problem but their behavior says otherwise. Leaving it up to the government and people in power to take action is lazy and FR not gonna happen in time...
If you look up what is causing climate change you will get a lot of information about deforestation, oil drilling, overpopulation, etc. it is easy to think these things are out of our control. The reality is that all of these things are the result of OUR OVERCONSUMPTION...
If we act sustainable WE STILL HAVE TIME. There is a lack of info about what to do and simple products to avoid. Chances are we all have bought one of these products with out knowing it’s impact, and that’s a problem! We need to become more aware of this info!!...
If you made it all the way to the end THANK YOU. please please please PLEASE RETWEET!! I am begging for a change in the way we act. If you have any more suggestions please add on. 💚
people I’ve never met from all around retweeting and liking is just😍😍😍😍 spreading awareness😍😍😍love to see it
this tweet is getting so much support 🥺💓 so I’m gonna add a few more thoughts.. WE MUST CHANGE OUR APPROACH. we focus so much on the scary/sad ass environmental disasters. Though important,it makes most people uncomfortable to watch houses burn, or polar bears and koalas dying.
It is depressing and it makes us feel hopeless, like there is nothing we can do. That is a myth, all of the solutions exist we just aren’t talking about them. We aren’t talking enough about successful intervention and protection in ecosystems that have reversed a lot of damage...
All these solutions need is more funding and more attention. So I hope people who read this thread feel a little less hopeless and a little more motivated to make changes and set an example for the people around you. Thank u so much for reading 🌍❤️ #ClimateChange #ClimateAction
HOW DID I FORGET to include FIREWORKS??? Duh
Did not expect this support😭😭🥺ppl usually roll their eyes when I call them out on their shit, idk what to do w myself rn. I should b friends w y’all instead
Started a Pinterest board full of even more tips and ideas! Again, sustainability is not about buying. A lot of these things can be recycled diy projects. Take a look💓🌸 https://pin.it/1Usbr2n
