I did a little bit of research and I have a small insight into the mask hatred. Before you blast me, I do *NOT* believe this. I am reporting it. If me telling you this makes you hate me then you're not better than any other fascist's we/they world view.

There is clearly a hell of a lot of crazy conspiracy theory going on, but I think a major catalyst of the hatred is the constant inconsistency in what people are told to do, and how they're shamed or not shamed for wearing masks arbitrarily.

So, getting rid of the conspiracy will be nearly impossible because everyone putting out information about mask wearing is also someone who's using "double speak and lies" as well.

Now, does that mean some apologies and admissions of guilt would help?

Probably not, as it's already too late, but I think it could help if the Surgeon General admitted he was lying, and if doctors admitted that the protests did spike the virus, and then a lot of apologies for misleading people in various ways.

I also think that shame is not working at all (it never has really). I think there has to be a change in messaging from "wear a mask for the good of the people" to one of "if we all wear a mask we can go back to work".

Based on Japan and Hong Kong, it seems that you don't have to shut down your economy if everyone wears a mask. I think given the potential real damage of an economic collapse, and that shut downs aren't working, the best option is legal mandating mask wearing BUT:

Set it up so any law mandating constant mask wearing is *also* tied with a law forbidding curfews and closures of businesses. You switch from a mass scale closure to individual "closures" and tell people the trade off for getting their job back is wearing a mask all the time.

As I said at the beginning of this thread, it is surrounded by the statement that I do *not* believe anything people say for reasons to not wear masks, I am only reporting what I've figured out. If my tweets make you angry, go fuck yourself, you're a fascist too.
