Glad to see Jackie Robinson on the list for the National Garden of Heroes.

After attending the GOP convention in July 1964, he warned of Republicans "seeking to sell America... the doctrine of racial division, the doctrine of racial prejudice, the doctrine of white supremacy."
Describing his experiences as a delegate at the 1964 Republican convention, Jackie Robinson wrote, "I now believe I know how it felt to be a Jew in Hitler's Germany."
