i am not going to get into the concept of original sin bc if you don’t get it fricken lol but i’m gonna riff for a minute on that question

my parents were different than most i will be the first to admit. they were raised by hard standards in difficult circumstances by people that came from much harder and more difficult circumstances and well you know everyone had it bad whatever

a difficult life was so much the guarantee that it was one of my dads daily tongue in cheek but tragically acerbic phrases

they did everything they could to help me succeed but i also remember them setting me up to fail

im not a parent but i assume one of their roles is to be insulators and arbiters of an amoral world for their children

in the same way we might show a child a stove is hot by carefully guiding his hand above the heat, my parents intentionally put me in situations that would create friction (heat) that made my mind register a different idea than previously held

ofc some of these lessons hurt— but not as much as they could have

wouldnt it be irresponsible of the parent/protector to NOT go to great lengths to prepare the child for life outside of the reach of their protection?

no, i think of an example

a parent with a strong child showing the other children what is possible in the world, while a sneering lib claps like a monkey in anticipation of failure

job could handle it, god knew that

now if you follow the good book you know that

god = love
god = light
god = truth

etc

[love] is in a pissing match with satan !

[light] is in a pissing match with [darkness] !

truth is in a pissing match with [deceit] !

in case i still gotta spell it out the thing about parents setting the kid up like that is that the child comes out more mature and able to handle more complex problems, usually to a greater benefit and in better standing than when the problem is encountered. (see book of job)

the epiphany i had earlier was the spark to this thread and it has to do with this and neurofacilitation

quickly: facilitation = when a nerve impulse passes through a specific pathway it is more apt to do so through that same pathway in the future

in my experience of watching someone deteriorate physically or mentally, there is a direct retreat into the mind. it fucking sucks and is a curse on this world. but physically speaking, what is the mind but a bunch of nerve impulses ?

which brings me back to job. no matter what happened he praised the name of the lord. for you demons whose eyes bleed at that phrase no matter what happened JOB SWORE HIS ALLEGIANCE TO LOVE

job used neurofacilitation to endure

job spoke words into life

job manifested

and he made it

sounds p cringe said that way but semantics do be what they be

back to the deterioration bit, i think this lesson is important to learn while you have your wits about you. as people deteriorate they fall into older/learned/habitual patterns

you see it when people are in shock just as you see it in panic or depression or ptsd etc

if you train yourself to always say “it is well” it will be. if you train yourself to say “it is hell” it will be

take the steps you can, right now, to harden yourself and say that it is well. because as it gets easier you may find that life is getting harder

and you do not want to find yourself stuck in a mind that can only see hell
