1/7 We’ve been brewing a plan to interrogate systems of oppression and put the responsibility back on to cultural and creative organisations to change - not the individuals.

2/7 Enabling Environments is our response to the surge of Anti-Racist statements & black boxes on socials. Systemic racism is not a new concept, but the amplification of #BlackLivesMatter has taken the conversation to a new level. And we are here for it.
3/7 THE BIG SQUEEZE: We’re inviting applications for three Strategic Partners to work with us over two years, to turn their Anti-Racist Statements into Action Plans with accountability built in. http://sourlemons.co.uk/enabling-environments
4/7 We’re also opening up our ZESTING process - half day workshops to 'shed the top layer', led by the Lemons to interrogate personal and collective power in dismantling systems that oppress Black and Brown people
5/7 Our role is not to educate or to fix, we hold up mirrors that allow organisations to consider how they are Enabling Environments where everyone can thrive.

'It’s not enough to only focus on the individual making lemonade.'
6/7 It’s an injustice that the smallest part of society – the white, formally educated & most privileged part – form the majority of creative decision makers, who get to tell stories on behalf of us all. What a narrow lens. We are all missing out.
7/7 It’s time to move away from diversity schemes designed to ‘slot people in’ and start to dismantle the system designed to keep them out.

This is not a ‘black’ problem. This is an ‘everyone’ problem. And now is the time to do something about it.
