Earlier today..

One of my favorite people claimed they were "Burning out"..

- They've been successful here
- They know what they're doing

But this happens to a LOT of us..

It hurts me to see

I want it to stop

Read this:

[AVOIDING TWITTER BURNOUT ~ THREAD] 🔥🚫
1.

I wasn't planning on writing this

But we lose some truly amazing people to "burnout" every day..

I'm not going to tell you:
- "Keep going"
- or "It'll be okay bro"

This thread will offer you actual insight

Don't quit on us ❤️

(We're here for you)
2.

I'll be covering:

~ Expectations
~ Opportunity Management
~ How to Keep the Train Moving

Including:
* Personal Experiences
* Examples

👇
3.

Setting Expectations

There are two things that make expectations difficult:
a.) Comparison
b.) Inability to predict the future

What do we see EVERY day?

- People posting their "1000 followers in 17 days" tweets..

(cont..)
4.

Is there anything wrong with these tweets?

Absolutely not..

* But you need to understand:

- We love posting our best moments
- Followers are simply a number
- WORRY ABOUT YOURSELF

We rarely share our struggles

Everybody has them

No one wins always

(cont..)
5.

For me..

I compared myself to those who were growing faster than myself..

Despite averaging 40-50 follows/day,

I still felt as if I was doing something wrong..

* You MUST:
- Think long-term
- Focus on yourself
- Be willing to outperform everyone else
6.

There are people growing faster than you,

Making more money than you,

Working HARDER than you (maybe)..

----> But how long can they keep that up?

* I say it all the time:

"It could take you 5 YEARS to reach 10,000 followers

AND IT WOULD STILL BE WORTH IT!"
7.

What could you do with 10,000 followers?

- Most people should have NO issue making $1-2k/mth with it..

Your Twitter account is an asset..

Build it slowly, and it'll pay your damn bills..

(note.. it should NOT take 5 years to hit 10,000 followers)
8.

So how do you set proper expectations?

Answer:

- Don't compare yourself to others
- Give yourself a timeline of 5 years
- Understand that it'll be worth it always

+ 50% of your tweets will suck
+ 30% will do okay
+ 20% will catch fire

Be consistent

Be patient
9.

Managing your Opportunity

~ The amazing thing about social media is the # of opportunities you get each day..

+ Write an ebook
+ Put out a thread
+ Create a free lead magnet
+ Send an email to your list
+ Hit your engagement numbers

This shit can get overwhelming!

(cont)
10.

This issue is common when you start to really grow..

You're expected to:
- Send emails
- Write threads
- Launch your pre-orders
- Constantly provide value

All while:
> continuing to grow
> make money
> and help others

** But which one do you do next?

(cont..)
11.

Remember how you got here..

If you got here by providing value and helping others..

Make sure you continue to do that 'somehow'...

.

Burnout occurs when we have a small amount of time to handle a large amount of work

❓ So how do you overcome this ❓

(cont..)
12.

The simple answer here is

--> Focus on what matters most <--

Keep in mind..
This is a LONG game 👍

Don't rush to get your guide out..

- Do a little bit at a time
- Make sure it's really "done" before you release it

(Here's how you determine what matters)
13.

If you're on this side

Your options are probably:

* Tweeting
* Engaging
* Affiliate Marketing
* Writing your free guide
* Writing your paid guide

Ask yourself this:

- "What brought me here?"

Most people would respond with:

- "To build a following and make $$$"

(cont.)
14.

If this is why you're here..

* Then do what's going to help you:
- Build a following
- Make money

* The more followers you have
- The greater your earning potential

(So continue building your following

... so you can increase your income)

(cont..)
15.

Besides..

💎 Giving immense value for FREE is how you'll grow the fastest in the first place ..

Most people try to create the "best ______ guide" as soon as they hit 1000 followers..

.. however they're not even done establishing themselves as an authority yet..

(cont..)
16.

If you're not yet "established"..

Your product will NOT perform as well as you want it to at the beginning..

* So what happens? *

YOU BURN OUT!

~ You forget to take time asking yourself "why"..
.. and start assuming you don't know what you're doing..

LONG TERM GAME!!
17.

Becoming a creator is important..

*But make sure you set realistic expectations..

1000 followers isn't going to be enough to quit your job.. 🚫

** So don't get upset when your guide didn't make you $2000 at release!

(Instead.. Do this)
18.

Just because you won't be able to quit your job..

.. doesn't mean you shouldn't start creating 🎨

Take the time to learn:

+ Organizing pre-orders
+ Product Launching
+ Pricing Strategies
+ Copywriting
+ Affiliates
+ Upsells

Make your mistakes now..

and learn from them..
19.

I've seen PLENTY of creators put out content around 1000 followers..

.. and they stop promoting it within a few weeks..

Why?

- Unrealistic expectations

** If you TRULY have a great product..

Continue promoting it FOREVER!

--> Get people familiar with what you sell
20.

In short:

- Emphasize Growth over Paid Content
- Don't rush to get your products out
- Make plenty of mistakes
- Learn from them
- Try every day

~ How to keep things "fresh" 🍃

Burnout is almost GUARANTEED if you show up doing the same shit every day..

* When I started out

My content came primarily from thoughts I'd have during the day ☀️

* As I progressed

I could no longer rely on my day-day thoughts

(cont..)
22.

Instead of spending an hour 'thinking' of tweet ideas..

I began:

+ Reading more books 📚
+ Watching more videos
+ Writing more on paper

** My increase in consumption led me to an increase in creation

(while making me more efficient)..
23.

Remember..

+ One of the BEST things you can share with your audience..

.. is a piece of advice you PERSONALLY learned..

You shouldn't struggle to come up with content:

~ Consume quality content
~ Apply to your own life
~ Share it with others
24.

🚫 Burnout occurs when:

* We stop enjoying the daily hustle
* It no longer comes off as "natural"
* We begin doing it for the "wrong reasons"

✅ Solution:

> Stop caring so much
> Be yourself
> Have fun

and STOP STRESSING ABOUT YOUR PAID CONTENT 🛑

The time will come..
25.

Key Takeaways 🔑 :

a.) Set REALISTIC Expectations
- It could take 5 years and STILL be worth it

b.) Don't Overwhelm Yourself
- Choose the best "next step"

c.) Set your OWN Pace
- It's the only one that matters

d.) Keep it Fresh
- Try new things, meet new people, have fun
26.

or you feel lost and are unsure about "what to do next"..

* I'm here to help 🤝

** I'm no stranger to burnout and ALMOST let it get to me here..

Instead:

I took a step back

and did what I could to keep it fun for me..
