A Universe recently told us that they're worried because they haven't been getting any exercise lately so here's a simple thread for anyone who wants to exercise!

Exercising has a lot of benefits on mental health, even if you only do ten minutes of low-intensity exercise a day.
Some health professionals recommend 150 minutes per week for adults, while other recommend 30 minutes of "active time" a day (including things like walking to school/work).

Here's a super helpful page on how to start, including types of exercises! https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/how-to-start-exercising
Once you've got some basic goals and knowledge, you're ready to start exercising!

But how long should you exercise for?

This article gives some helpful guidelines. However, it's super flexible and completely up to you! Just don't overwork yourself! https://www.livestrong.com/article/153380-definition-of-reps-sets/
NOW is the essential part: what exercises should I be doing?

My favourite resource for finding workouts is this website! I usually use the "no-equipment" page, but there are pages for multiple different things, like strength not cardio. https://www.self.com/package/workout-finder
Remember that things like yoga and walking count as exercise, and also remember to warm up when you work out!

I usually do back stretches (see link!) to warm up because I sit at my desk all day and have back pain.

There are lots of others you can do! https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/stretches-for-lower-back-pain
And now you're all set! I hope this thread is helpful!

Every time I exercise in the morning, I end up having a really good day and it does have a positive impact on my mental health!

I'd love to hear about your fitness so feel free to DM us đŸ„ș
