I am really tired of cis hot takes on trans lives. I'm simply not interested in constantly responding to attacks - it's not good for my mental health to engage with people who think I shouldn't exist.

Trans people are canaries in the coalmine. We point to fractures in systems
Injustice affects trans people deeply. Trans rights demand a focus on bodily autonomy, informed consent for medical treatment, employment rights, housing and homelessness, incarceration and prison reform, reproductive rights and rethinking marriage and the nuclear family
Our rights do not conflict with anyone else's & building for us means improving things for everyone else. If you want bodily autonomy, privacy, medical treatment based on informed consent, for people not to be fired at the whim of their employer...we are fighting for the same
Actually listen to what trans people advocate for, not straw men arguments. Toilets and changing rooms have become flashpoints. We are bogeymen, distorted fantasies - and none of this reflects what we actually want
Take toilets. I advocate for self-contained single units which have a toilet and a sink in the cubicle with a locking door. Good for trans people. Good for people who use a menstrual cup and want to rinse it. Good for parents and carers looking after a child of a different gender
I want to build communities of care and compassion. I want to envision societies where we - and everyone - are valued. I want us to tell our stories and live our truths. I want to work towards something better, and scrapping with twitter bigots is not a good use of my energy
