Last night there was a beautiful and somewhat close #conjunction of Earth’s #moon and #Jupiter last night.

I took this photo, while planning to delete it.

This is a single photo, processed in sections to equalize exposure while retaining reality.

Last night’s #moon and #Jupiter conjunction with some markup to show the little bits that are hard to see.

All four major moons of Jupiter were also nicely visible.

If you don’t agree that Earth’s moon is Starkiller Base, feel free to change my mind.

Yes, this image was made from a single photo. One click.

However, four exposure variations from the raw photo were masked and blended to equalize the relative brightness of Earth’s #moon, #Jupiter and its moons, and the background airglow.

Lastly, for now. The photos at the beginning of this thread are TIME TRAVEL!

You’re seeing light from the moon that ~1.3 seconds old, and the light reflected off Jupiter, in the same photograph, is about ~35 minutes old.

AT! THE! SAME! TIME!
