So, you watched #Hamilton
on Disney+ and realised that watching official recordings of theatre productions at home during lockdown is pretty cool? Here are some others you can try. (Thread)

Disney+ also has a professional recording of Newsies, filmed live in Hollywood, and starring Jeremy Jordan. https://www.disneyplus.com/en-gb/movies/newsies-the-broadway-musical/2TlbstTMvio2
You can watch eleven original musicals for free through @TeamStarkidâs youtube channel: the three Potter Musicals, Me and My Dick, Holy Musical Batman, Twisted, Ani, The Trail to Oregon, Firebringer, The Guy Who Didnât Like Musicals and Black Friday. https://www.youtube.com/user/StarKidPotter
The @TinCanBros also have their spy musical Spies Are Forever, and their one-act play The Solve-It Squad, available for free on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/user/tincanbros
In the UK (not sure elsewhere) there's Digital Theatre ( https://www.digitaltheatre.com ) for ÂŁ9.99 a month, or you can rent individual productions. Lots of Shakespeare, classics, contemporary plays, and some musicals. A highlight is the David Tennant/Catherine Tate Much Ado About Nothing
Thereâs also BroadwayHD ( https://www.broadwayhd.com ) available in the US and internationally both through its own service and through Amazon for $8.99 a month. Highlights include Falsettos and Kinky Boots but there are LOADS.
The National Theatre ( https://www.youtube.com/user/ntdiscovertheatre/videos) and The Shows Must Go On ( https://www.youtube.com/c/theshowsmustgoon/videos) have been putting some productions on youtube for free during lockdown, but theyâre only up for a limited time.
Manchester International Festival have a whole bunch of performances up on their youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/ManchesterIntFest/videos
The Royal Opera House have also been putting operas and ballets on their channel. Right now La Vie Boheme is up there: https://www.youtube.com/c/RoyalOperaHouse/videos
Finally, a much more extensive list of even more ways to watch theatre at home (legally) is in this Whatâs On Stage article, although a few of them have since expired: https://www.whatsonstage.com/london-theatre/news/stage-shows-musicals-opera-free-stream-online_51198.html
Sorry I had a brain fart. @TeamStarKid have twelve musicals on their channel. My apologies to Starship!
Remember, the arts have been hit HARD by this crisis. Many theatres are charities & if you are financially able to, please consider donating (especially to your local theatres) to help keep them afloat, & keep putting pressure on your government to provide support for the arts.
Couple of others I just thought of. @shittybroadway have put both of their musical theatre cabaret shows (so far) up on their YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/c/ShittyBroadway
And @PlayhousePixel have been bringing live musical theatre to Twitch. https://m.twitch.tv/pixelplayhouse/profile
Stand-up comedy has also been hit hard. There are, of course, tons of stand-up comedy shows on Netflix. https://netflix.com/browse/genre/11559?bc=34399
There's also The #CovidArms, who host a regular stand-up livestream in aid of The Trussell Trust: https://comedyatthecovid.co.uk
