to anybody worried about the #bubonicplague
nowadays it's treated with antibiotics, lowering the death rate to around 11% (compared to a 60% death rate without any treatment), also basic hygene is a big help when dealing with the disease.
(1/...)
also the #bubonicplague was never fully contained, in 2013 for example, 783 new cases were registered, out of those people 126 died.
also this piece came from an article posted in 2019
between the years 2010 and 2015 3.248 cases were registered leading to 584 deaths.
I'm showing these numbers to show that the disease has been around in recent years still and it still kills less than the flu, so with the new ways we have to treat it it's not nearly as dangerous.
so what i took away from the bit of research i did.
it's like most diseases, don't treat it then it can have major effects on your health, even death, treat it properly and it will be fine.
So don't be too scared because of the amount of people that It killed in the past 1/2
our science has evolved a lot.
But also don't be too careless thinking it's nothing, it is still serious.
not as serious as it was in the past, but still serious.
take all precautions and if someone happens to get it, go to a hospital as soon as you experience the symptoms.
take the meds the doctors give you and you're good.
the key with treating the #bubonicplague is treating it quickly.
