1/2 One scene from The Last of Us 2 had me think of Ellie & Joel in the first title. For Neil to write that Ellie wanted to die but disregard she did not give her consent to Marlene, not know if the vaccine would work & hoped to be with Joel after the visit. The scenes were not
2/2 addressed properly to me, as Joel should have given a detailed explanation to Ellie on Marlene, him not receiving his guns for bringing Ellie to the Fireflies, other recordings, how Marlene was told to kill Joel. Why was that not included, leaving Joel silent & guilt ridden?
Why did Ellie only find one audio recording, but no further discussion on Marlene's recordings, Joel's mistreatment against the Fireflies or have Ellie sympathize with his decision since she did expect to leave with Joel? The execution of Ellie learning the truth felt off to me.
The decision is both Neil and Halley, but for me to ignore Ellie's dialogue from the first game where displayed no hints of wanting to die but not consult with Marlene and Joel if she was ready was poorly written. Credit of the images are from GameCin.
To add what I mentioned in relation to Halley Gross wanting Ellie to die, which I feel contradicts her statements to Joel after the giraffe scene. Ellie was unconscious to not give her decision to Joel/Marlene, why suddenly say this? The screenshots is from user TyiFalls.
An additional post to this thread is Tommy & Joel's erratic decision to saving Abby from a horde of infected in the beginning. Bandits were a problem since the first game, why would Abby be trusted quickly & not be questioned why was she alone in the woods by both characters?
