Okay, Haikyuu& #39;s amazing because of the character development, the symbolisms used, the parallelism and callbacks, and the amazing attention to detail to make it as authentic as possible.

I also want to talk about why I personally love HQ so much: the portrayal of the experience
As sports narratives are concerned, we love to see our protagonists go up against the odds and be the champion.

For Karasuno, they& #39;re able to go far (Top 8 in the country), but not all the way to the top.

And, while heartbreaking, we can& #39;t deny that it& #39;s actually plausible.
At the start of the series, they& #39;re basically a mishmash of good players, individual "gears" as Takeda said it.

It took a while, but the gears eventually got going.

However, other schools had mastered their machinery way before Karasuno did.
This means that Karasuno may be strong, but undoubtedly, other schools who& #39;ve worked with each other for far longer are stronger.

This doesn& #39;t mean that Karasuno can& #39;t defy odds, because no two games are the same even with the same players. (like Karasuno vs Seijo/Nekoma)
So back to my main point, what makes HQ personally meaningful to me is because we don& #39;t see Karasuno as the "champions", but the journey that they& #39;ve gone through to get where they are is amazing all on its own.

We don& #39;t need to see them on a podium to see that they& #39;re amazing.
Loss is an important element in sports. You may be the best for now, but there will come a time where someone even better will come along. That& #39;s the beauty of sports.

You train hard to be the best you can be, and hope that your efforts will be worth it.
Also, in the nationals, we have little to no information of the champions who won nationals. Because it really happens like that in real life, it& #39;s honestly anyone& #39;s game.

Notice how none of the key characters in HQ became champions.
In defeat, I also want to talk about the schools that Karasuno defeated on the way to the top.

Honestly, Furudate could have glossed them over, but as a former HS Athlete, the fact that he put depth to their stories hit me hard in the feelings (lol)
Their stories are also essential to the whole sports experience of HQ because with victory comes defeat.

But that doesn& #39;t mean that you& #39;ll give up despite facing strong opponents.

These narratives of Tokonami and Ohgiminami really hit close to home.
Tokonami still fought as long as the match was ongoing.

In contrast, Ohgiminami already kinda gave up.

A lot of things can go in an athlete& #39;s head, and these two are just some of what I& #39;ve experienced personally. I& #39;m sure at some point, you have too.
Because at some point in our lives, we& #39;ve faced regret. "I should& #39;ve worked harder, done this, did that", in different aspects of our lives.

But these defeats are turning points in our lives to become better.

Just like what happened with these teams.
Also, in the Timeskips, we see our fave HQ characters moving on with their lives, pursuing passions. As Osamu said, he doesn& #39;t need vball to be successful.

HQ just shows that sports isn& #39;t the end all, be all of these characters. They& #39;ve played, they& #39;ve learned, they& #39;ve grown.
We& #39;ve all known a Kageyama/Ushijima in our lives, someone who& #39;s had innate talent from their youth.

The Oikawa/Hoshiumis of the world, who& #39;d had to train and fight all their lives to prove themselves.

The Daichis/Sugas/Asahis, who gave their all but knew their limits.
Each character, each narrative represents a person in the real world.

That& #39;s why I love Haikyuu. Despite the struggles, the victories, the defeats, the characters are led to where they are now because of the journey.

It resonates with us because we& #39;ve been in their shoes.
Haikyuu isn& #39;t all about the happy fairytale ending, because it& #39;s anchored in real life.

To see that they& #39;ve grown from the experience, happy with where they are now...Isn& #39;t that a happy ending in itself already?
Honestly this is just a long diary entry contemplating on how much HQ actually hits home. Even if I was just "townsperson B" as Yachi put it, it was nice to look back and see how sports was a big part of my life lol.
