So here’s the deal bo “America isn’t the Ghel”...

When you live in Sandton & vacation koCamps bay, driving a nice luxury car... then you visit NY & hang out ko Times Square...
You’re basically comparing America to Park Station & have no idea where to go when ur here!
But make no mistake, even though Times Square is the tourist pit, a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment will hit you at R60k+
It’s how we keep them New York lights blingin’ 🤷🏾‍♀️
I’m trying to find “the equivalent of..”

Okay here it is... if you’re someone who frequents spaces like
Level Four at 54 on Bath,
but get to NY & go to Five Guys burger , then hop on social media on some “NY isn’t the GhEyl”... you’re straight up Lying to people.
A good comparison would be if you came here and went to the high end spaces that you usually frequent in your own country.
Then you can talk about service, quality, ambiance here compared to there.
But simply turning into some tourist junk restaurant & talking smack is insane!
Now I get it...R500 gets you a decent meal in SA, but that’s a moms & pops meal in NY that you eat on the Red Steps there by Times Square. So you have to cough up some real cash for the luxe experience that you’re used to back “home”...
So now you’re not special.
We have beautiful spaces, luxuries... question is.... how far are you willing to stretch your pocket to access them???

Are you able to get an SUV from Manhattan to the Hamptons for the while you’re visiting here? That’s luxe... that’s an experience.. 🤷🏾‍♀️ https://nymag.com/urbanist/article/east-hampton-and-amagansett.html
Here’s what’s FUNNY to me, when SA IT girls started frequenting NYC a few years back, they ALLLLLLLLLL went to H&M and ZARA...

That was before these brands went to SA. I tweeted then (H&M is the Mr Price of the USA)... to which I was dubbed a HATER as always. Lol 🤣
These are the same celebs who shop at the DIAMOND WALK when they’re back home. Then they’d hit social media and talk about bad service they received at H&M... High school kids work at H&M.. they’re not here to give you any luxury experience & they don’t really care 🤷🏾‍♀️🤣

GO HERE!
But y’all aren’t traveling for yourselves and as who y’all are. You just want the same picture that that one influencer took that one time. So your experience is about tracing someone else’s footsteps instead of creating your own path of adventure.
This is Accessible luxury Nyc
This is a FOOD COURT on the Hudson River where you can get a nice meal for $20 with epic views & watch yachts pulling in and out of the city...
But you know, ama-influencers haven’t been there yet, so until then, we’re all gonna be pretending to be hailing a cab on 5th Avenue 🤣
It’s important to decide who you are as a person & as a traveler. Are you a FOODIE?? Do you prefer luxury dining or more of an eclectic situation. Ethnic food experiences? Rooftop or formal dining? THEN save for at least ONE of those experiences when u travel.

Who are YOU?
Let me add, it isn’t even about money most of the time. You can shop luxury brands here for a FRACTION of the cost that you pay back in SA. You can have EPIC experiences here at a reasonable rate but you just have to know where to go. Know the right ppl to guide you.
