Never post on social media:
- identifiable photos of your minor children.
- any photos or info with indications of where you live or where your kids go to school.
- your vehicle registration.
- your travel plans before or during the trip. After the trip, don't overshare.
This is for privacy and security reasons.

For everything else, don't think the taxman is clueless about what you're doing.
The other day I posted a 23 year old photo on Facebook. Friends of mine who are now 23 years older than they were when the pic was taken were automatically tagged by the facial recognition algorithm.

Spare your kids from this.
Guard the privacy and safety of your kids. You may think you're sharing pics with close connections, but images do have a way of being re-shared.

Do what you think is right, but be aware of the risks.
If you choose to make an informed decision to share images of your kids, do not post pics of them in school uniform. Privacy and safety.

Remove geotags from images of your kids. Beware of tagging your home on GPS apps. Losing your unlocked device can lead thugs to your home.
I remember a time some tweep excitedly yelled at me in traffic. Something about not being a meme. Yes I am recognisable, but it is a bit scary when that happens.

Don't share your vehicle registration online.
Ask your kids school if they have an online privacy policy. You will do your utmost to keep your kids images off Facebook, but if the school posts images without your consent, that is a risk to your kids. As a parent you should at least have a say in the matter.
