My brother isn& #39;t a big cussy person. Growing up, cussing was not done in my house. Of course, my father would say a few choice words when he got angry. I thought it was wrong and was scandalized when I heard words. Then when I was about 17, my best friend at the time said to me..

"You know that some guy somewhere just decided that these particular words are bad. They& #39;re not inherently worse than any other word." (Now we& #39;re not talking slurs. I& #39;m talking your basic four-letter words here.) But her putting it that made me realize I was overreacting...

And basically I& #39;ve been super-cussy ever since. I respect that some people don& #39;t use/enjoy those words, and I know there is a time and a place. But my brother will edit them out of songs. Especially the word "fuck." He& #39;ll mute it or replace the line...

So I was very disappointed today when listening to Alanis Morissette to find that he edited my song. Clearly he has never known what it is to be a woman wronged and sing along, "are you thinking of me when you fuck her?" But I couldn& #39;t. And that was the point of this thread.
