I don't mind him using it against the parademons. No one complained about it in JL, where the first scene had Batman killing one. We don’t talk about it because they are mindless aliens with no sentience. Same applies with the Outriders in Endgame.

Also, yeah, I get that Batman used guns and stuff in the golden age comics, but this isn't even part of the main DC universe anymore, and hasn't been for quite some time. Point and blank, this isn't Batman anymore.

I also want to say that I personally enjoy BvS. I liked it a lot for what it is, but it just isn't an accurate representation of who Batman is. But I'll give crefit where it's due. The Ultimate Edition did clarify a lot of Batman's actions and calls them out, and it makes more-

-sense.
