My sister-in-law in Florida just got back to her car with this on the rear windshield. Is this a known prank? Like a rubber stamp from Etsy?
"werewolf windshield stamp" is going to make for an interesting week of retargeting on internet dot com
So I'm suspicious of the print running from the tip of the digit to the end of the claw. But my googling is failing and I'm not seeing anything on reddit.
Got her to confirm she didn't copy/paste the movie and image from somewhere else. She wrote my name on her hand.
Going on a 30m of googling. I'm failing, but the search is full of happy accidents. Like this. Witches made out of feet. Def should supplant hand turkey as the most popular autumnal kid art. Look how cute this is. We got that one wrong as a species. K back to search
Update: Florida wildlife has said they can’t identity the print from the image and are coming in the AM to dust it. Said they think they filmed a Tarzan movie nearby years ago and might be feral chimps? Lol I feel so gullible rn
They were parked on a concrete driveway with grass and gravel behind it. Nothing greasy around.

Feels like an extra on CSI:2020
The wildlife guy thinks the monkey might've lost it's pinky doing monkey stuff in Florida. Looks pretty clean for losing a pinky in the wild idk. I am the world's most gullible person. Can someone call this?
Wildlife didn't want to wait til AM and told them to call the police. I guess I'm not being pranked. The monster is out there. The Panama City Beach PD are on the case.
Here’s where I’m skeptical on the print.
It is almost 1am on a school night but right now I wanna find my sunglasses.
I’m stuck on the foldy skin under the base of the fingers.
What would a handprint look like if you did it with the back of your hand? And why isn’t this on google images?
Ok, now looking at this print as tho it’s the *back* of a hand. A forward handprint is easy. Back of the hand? Not so much.
I spread my son's unfinished avocado all over the back of my hand and rolled it towards the thumb side. The outside metacarpal isn't there and it looks like a 'missing pinky'. A straight line🧐
Looking into Wildlife's claim, a 1939 feature 'Tarzan Finds a Son' was filmed near Silver Springs. An enterprising guide named Colonel Tooey marooned 3 rhesus macaques on an island in hopes of promoting jungle tours. They promptly escaped.
In the last 80 years, the descendants of these rhesus macaques have been seen as far away as 100 miles in Jacksonville. Panama City is more than 200 miles away as the crow flies, nearly 300 by land. This seems unlikely 🤨. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2418549/Tarzan-monkeys-Florida-number-1-000-introduced-74-years-ago.html
Another problem with the rhesus is the average male is 1'8" tall. A Ford Explorer is just under 6 feet tall. The closest nuclear reactor is 265 miles away. Unless this monkey hitchhiked and skinny dipped in the uranium on the way there, this doesn't add up.
6 different Florida Wildlife Commission print specialists have looked at it and still have no idea. My sister-in-law is updating here insta story as this unfolds. https://www.instagram.com/chloebeephoto/?hl=en
Update(s): Wildlife sent the print to a biologist in South Florida. They’re only convinced of two things:
1. it’s not a prank
2. that it’s more likely a foot than a hand (wtf)

Again for scale. (upped contrast so print stands out)
cont... If this new biologist can't identify the print, and the cops don't track it down, it enters a vault of unknowns called the 'cryptids'—think folklore creatures. Find a list here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cryptids

Cryptids tend to be localized and are treated much like cold cases.
Florida is only known for its sightings of what's called the "skunk ape" -- an upright humanoid creature known for smelling like rotten eggs. It's also claimed by AR, NC, and AL, but the vast majority of sightings are Florida.
There were two rather significant sightings in 2000. The photo from the last tweet, and again below, was mailed to the Sarasota Sheriff's Department with the letter below. She figured it was an orangutan stealing her apples and wished to remain anonymous.
The other sighting was caught on camcorder by Dan Shealy, Florida's self-proclaimed Skunk Ape expert. I need to meet this guy. Bc obviously. It's THE DAN SHEALY.

The skunk ape's gait in this video is a lil too human to me 🧐. But I'm intrigued.
Dave, not Dan, Shealy. Called his office. We're speaking tomorrow. They're getting a rare influx of calls recently from people like me.

Either I'm caught up in a hilarious social experiment or Dave is a SAVAGE marketer (he runs a camping/tours outfit) https://www.skunkape.info
Dave is an interesting dude. Give this 15 minutes. Skunk Apes are his life's work. He's been studying a cryptid myth that dates back to the native Seminoles. They called it the Esti Capcaki and spoke of it's foul smell and physical power.
Probably no meaningful info until tomorrow once the biologist weighs in.

I'm stuck on something tho. Wildlife keeps a registry of all known wild game owned in their jurisdiction. And likely archives any wild game they catch that *wasn't* registered just for records...
cont. And u mean to tell me in the year 2020, they're somehow staring at a print that exactly *none* of them can classify? That a zoologist can't classify? That's not to suggest Wildlife isn't good at their jobs. That's simply a lot of history and Florida is an timeline exponent.
Not posting much while waiting to hear back from the biologist. Don't wanna overstep my armchair forensic abilities 😂. But I know photoshop! With some minor adjustment layers to bring out texture and contrast, the print looks like this. It is wild!
The update, as these things go, is that there is no update. None of the 10 biologists and zoologists could identify the print. So it's cold and for them gets chalked up to a prank 🤷‍♂️

SIL approached by 1 or 2 shows about a segment which like cool and all but it's not resolution.
I guess these things happen all the time. It was just a print after all. Who’s gonna pursue that further than they need to? A victimless window slapping.

It’s just still so weird. This print got sent around the state of Florida. That’s a LOT of professionals.
But if the pros go 🤷 and it’s not worth being pursued by the law, that leaves room for the imagination, and that’s not such a bad thing.

I mean, these crytid stories are such a neat part of history. They’re not anti historical. They’re capsules of our collective imaginations.
Still wanna talk to Wildlife. Still wanna talk to Dave Shealy. I’m too curious to let this drift off. But I’m also not a guy with a podcast so we’ll see. I’ll update here if it’s worthy of your time. ✌️for now
