It's the job of beauty industry to make us feel like our face, our skin, our body, our hair etc aren't enough as they are. How else are they gonna convince us to open our purse and buy all the beauty products?

Even when they use seemingly positive words such as “you're worth it” or “pamper yourself” if you examine the sentiment behind it it's still the same. It implies that you'll be in a better state for having Product X than without. Those without are not enough, not worth it.
Remember that sunscreen song? “Do NOT read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly.”

Well. It's 2020 and today the beauty magazines have come into our social media feed in the form of influencers and promoted tweets.
