and now let& #39;s clarify something: why is it important to clean searches with the word "gay"?

(translated thread by @hellsuk and @pvrplehun)
before starting I want you to answer something super important.

where are your idols from? It& #39;s a serious question
now, let& #39;s talk seriously.

do you stan korean idols? well, pay attention to me. I& #39;m going to talk to you about a serious topic.

homophobia in korea is big, is serious, and it& #39;s a daily problem.

have you ever heard of conversion theraphy?
before moving on to conversion therapies, let& #39;s talk about the countries:
same-sex relationships are illegal in 70 countries, in 26 of those countries only men are punished, 11 countries punish with the death penalty, 26 countries have convictions ranging from 10 years in prison+
to life imprisonment.

31 countries punish relationships between two people of the same sex with 8 years in prison. there are only three countries that prohibit sexual reconversion therapies and let me tell you something: South Korea is not among those
do you want to assume that the idols you stan are gay?

do you know d-cru.nch? last year they cancelled a last-minute presentation because the organizer of the event heard rumors that the members of the group were gay. people humiliated them when they apologized
and that with a simple rumor.

do you see why it is important to clean that kind of searches? it is not about homophobia, it is not about being afraid of the word gay, it is about understanding that if searches get big and popular, they affect the idols& #39; career
in this case it is right to mention this, a few months ago a member of a RBW group in Vietnam had a scandal for spreading rumors of his rbw colleagues& #39; sexuality in Korea. he, along with a girl he dated, said that some of the members of 0neus were gay
RBW issued a statement explaining that the group in Vietnam does not train or live with 0neus, so the rumors were obviously fake and, due to the seriousness of their accusations, they expelled this boy from his group and from the company.
luckily, no one else found out about the rumours and these stayed between the fandom. we cleaned searches two days in a row even so because we wanted to protect our group& #39;s career, if that issue spread and reached the yellow media we would have faced a similar situation to the+
one d-cru...nch experienced.

you don& #39;t want to talk about Korean idols? ok, let& #39;s talk about British singers for example.
how did the rumors of being gay affected 1D& #39;s members? We are going to focus specifically on two of them that y& #39;all surely know about, to this day, it is still said that the two of them are gay
do you know what it& #39;s like to live with that? get up everyday knowing your fans don& #39;t really care about you, because all they care about is to see your friendship with a friend in a romantic way. It kinda hurts, doesn& #39;t it?
did you ever get to see the amount of articles that came out of those topics? did you get to see how they acussed one of them of being homophobic just for saying that that ship was the worst shit he had ever heard? and he had reasons to be angry.
you don& #39;t want to talk about British singers? let& #39;s talk about Canadians, does Shawn Mendes sound familiar to you? He said a long time ago that he was tired of people assuming his sexuality based on his attitudes, he said he wanted people to follow him because of his music, not+
because of his sexual orientation.

should we talk about women? Camila and Lauren, two singers who said several times that they hated the ship that people had for both of them, that they hated how toxic that had become and how sick it was.
they talked about how they wanted people to stop assuming their sexuality.

you aren& #39;t interested in the Koreans, Canadians or the British? let& #39;s talk about latinos then. CNCO and CD9, two boy groups, both started in Mexico.
both groups have respective ships, what happened? fans took them out of context. they have said many times how tired they are of that, they are fed up with constant articles, that everyone talks about them just for that, that their fans see and recognize them just for that.
let& #39;s talk about Holland, do you think that by declaring himself openly gay in Korea they hate on him? have you seen him promote on a music show? have you seen him at Korean awards? have you seen him under a Korean agency? Korean people make his life impossible.
saying "Holland is an example to follow" is easy because you are not from Korea, you do not know what has to happen and not to mention that there are idols that at some point before being famous bull!ed Holland hor being homosexual.
how easy for you to say "stop being afraid of the word gay" "there is nothing wrong with searches looking like this" there is EVERYTHING wrong because whatever the fans do, the media make it into something to attack celebrities.

if that isn& #39;t enough to you, in the past, v.ixx members showed that they were UNCOMFORTABLE with the rumors (spreaded by some juniors in the kpop industry) about their sexuality. j43hwa.n had to talk about it twice on national TV and deny the rumors, by himself
it& #39;s not right to assume other people& #39;s sexualities. and by saying someone is NOT gay, doesn& #39;t mean that you think they are straight either, you just don& #39;t put them a label because that& #39;s NOT of your business.
we don& #39;t have to care about an idol& #39;s sexuality because it& #39;s something PERSONAL, and if they don& #39;t want to talk about it themselves (which is understandable), it DOESN& #39;T give you the right to do it.
so, STOP MESSING UP SEARCHES.

STOP ASSUMING SEXUALITIES.

STOP REINFORCING STEREOTYPES.

protect and RESPECT your idol, their companies will not do it.
they DON& #39;T hate on him?*** srry our mistake https://twitter.com/pvrplehun/status/1279957469628895233?s=19">https://twitter.com/pvrplehun...
